Guidelines |
- Use proper grammar, capitalization, and punctuation. We are not complete grammar nazis, and we aren't going to pile on you for occasionally misspelling a word or using a comma splice. However, we hate trying to read posts comprised of nothing but netspeak. u will b taunted if u type lke this bcuz it makes u l00k dumb!
- Keep the drivel clutter to a minimum. Posting 20 stupid quizzes from Quizilla and one-sentence replies to threads does not a discussion board make. An occasional quiz is okay, but they shouldn't be the majority of your posts. And if you make a post that says something like "Wow. Just WOW!" will get you mocked.
- Don't whine about the board being "too liberal" or "anti-religion" or "too mean" or anything else. No religion or political group is sacred here, and we really enjoy cussing. If foul language offends your delicate sensibilities, you will not like it here. Do you fucking get it? Don't join this board and then whine about it.
- Don't dish it out if you can't take it. If you are overly sensitive to criticism or people calling you on your bullshit, this is probably not the place for you. Go find a Happy Fluffy Bunny childfree board. There are no sacred cows on this board. People here like to debate - some just for the sake of debating. If you are bothered when people disagree with you or express a contrary point of view, you will not like it here.
- Please be aware that we purge non-posting members on a regular basis. This is to keep our member database to a manageable size and the forums optimized. We prefer members who contribute to the board, not just lurk! We prefer quality over quantity. Active members make for a great discussion board. If no one bothers to post, then it's not really a DISCUSSION board. When you register, you will be placed in the LURKER member group, which only has access to the Town Cryer forum. Once you introduce yourself there, you will be promoted to the MEMBER group and can then participate in all of our forums and topics. However, you will be unable to alter your Member Profile data until you have reached VOTING MEMBER status. This is to prevent trolls and spammers from registering with a valid email address and then immediately changing it to a fake one (a problem we've had in the past).
- Parents & religious/conservative people aren't prohibited from joining or posting, but we do not tip-toe around parents & religious/conservative people or spare their feelings. If you are a parent or religious/conservative person, you probably will not like what you read here, and your whining won't be well-received. (see guideline #3 above) First and foremost, this is a board for childfree atheists. We sometimes bitch about things that annoy us and use our own terminology like "breeders" and "fundies". Chances are you will feel defensive about this if you are a parent or religious and won't enjoy yourself here.
- We don't allow banner advertisements in signatures or anywhere outside of "The Marketplace" forum on the discussion board. Anyone who does this will be considered a spammer and summarily banned. We routinely auto-ban people who register and then place links to sites selling Viagra or porn in their profiles.
