Online communities are successful only if members contribute to them. As such, we are not fond of lurkers at Selfish Heathens. If you intend to register on this board only to lurk, please be aware that you will initially be placed into the LURKERS member group and will be unable to read the majority of posts on the board until you make an introductory post. The only forum you will be able to read after your initial registration is the Town Cryer forum, which is our forum for administrative announcements, technical support, and new member introductions. You should post an introduction in the thread titled "Introduce Yourself!" We promise we don't bite, and we will try to make you feel welcome!

After you make your initial introduction, you will be promoted to the MEMBERS group where you will have the ability to read and post to everything on the board. You will also have the ability to use other cool board features like our private messenger (PM) system. However, you will be unable to alter your Member Profile data until you have reached VOTING MEMBER status.  This is to prevent trolls and spammers from registering with a valid information and then immediately changing it to fake information and adding ads to their signatures (a problem we've had in the past). If, however, you never participate again after your one introductory post, your user account will be deleted along with your introductory post. We delete non-posting members and lurkers on a monthly basis at Selfish Heathens.

You are, of course, free to re-register if your user account is purged. However, if you don't intend to post on the board, what's the point? You will have to continually re-register and re-introduce yourself in order to read the board. So, if this is your intention, don't waste your time or ours!
